Joshua Daniel (born 15 April 1991) is an award-winning British tenor, countertenor, and choral director from Northamptonshire, England.
Recognised for the rare balance of power and tenderness in his voice, Joshua’s performances carry a distinct emotional depth — able to fill vast cathedrals with resonance while maintaining an intimacy that feels deeply personal.
He has appeared in some of the United Kingdom’s most revered spaces, including St Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Ely Cathedral, the Actors’ Church (Covent Garden), and Peterborough Cathedral, and has recorded in Bath Abbey, Beverley Minster, Selby Abbey, and Tewkesbury Abbey.
Joshua’s artistry has been honoured through numerous festival and competition awards, alongside civic recognition for his contribution to the arts. He is also the Founder and President of The English Choral Festival, dedicated to nurturing musical excellence and community participation from choirs whilst being adjudicated by leaders in their field.
As a Musical Director, Adjudicator, and Vocal Coach, Joshua leads acclaimed ensembles such as The Wollaston Singers, Decibelles Ladies Choir, Sound of Sirens Services Choir & Huntingdon Male Voice Choir. His direction has earned multiple accolades, including the Conductor’s Award at the Peterborough International Women’s Choral Festival.
Joshua’s musical journey began at the age of nine, performing in local eisteddfods. His dedication to music flourished through his studies at Brooke Weston Academy and Bishop Stopford School, achieving his Diploma in Music with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. Today, he continues to inspire choirs and audiences alike through his artistry, leadership, and unwavering devotion to the choral tradition
